About Here is a series of animated short films, designed for mobile phone, telling place-based stories. Each film is humorous and accessible, with stories and characters that people can engage with. The films are designed to be downloaded on location, providing information and history through storytelling.
To view, first imagine you’re at Culross Abbey in Fife. You can see the picturesque ruins of the thirteenth-century abbey, hear the seagulls, and feel a vicious wind whipping in from the Firth of Fourth.
Aged only fifteen, sixth-century Princess Thenaw was sentenced to a horrible death by her father, the King of East Lothian. Her dramatic - some would say miraculous - escape to Culross is the stuff of legend. So how is it that her fame has been eclipsed by that of her, equally miraculous, son?
WINNER: Best Animation Mobifest Toronto 2008 film festival.
The two pilot About Here films have been made through a Pocket Shorts Scotland commission, funded by Scottish Screen, NESTA and Scottish Enterprise.
