Yiibu: mobile experiences

The mobile experience designers at Yiibu approached us with an unusual brief. Rather than needing us to create CGI illustrations, they wanted us to make it possible for them to do so.

We provided a 3D model file of a mobile phone handset, set up for Yiibu's preferred software, so that illustrations could be rendered at the press of a button. Why? Yiibu wanted to show mock-ups of its interface designs on a real handset.

The slide above shows the handset model rendered, by Yiibu, in plain white for use in a presentation (Going Mobile 2010). Yiibu's presentations (especially the recent Rethinking the Mobile Web, originally prepared for Over The Air 2010 in London and well worth a look) have been getting the consultancy global attention for its expertise - as has its new website, launched this month.

Highland: process brand images

Highland has three metalwork finishing processes - galvanising, powdercoating, and its own "Colourgalv". It commissioned images to represent each process as part of a 2008 rebrand. The organic shapes we developed were inevitably referred to as the "Highland Blob".

You'll see the Blob on adverts, brochures and the Highland website - in pure zinc as above, or in zingy powdercoat colours from Highland's range.

Horne Optitherm brochure and adverts

Our first project for Horne Engineering saw us producing illustrations of their shower range for a brochure, back in 2003. Since then Horne have commissioned us to create detailed animations of their shower range and Optitherm tap. We've also provided still illustrations alongside each animation.

Stills such as the one above, which uses photomontage to show the Optitherm in context, are used in adverts, brochures and online throughout Horne's marketing and sales activities.
